Creativity is Broken

Creatives don't come alive chasing numbers. We come alive in the craft.

The last six years broke something for creatives, and for me especially. Budgets shrank, attention spans shortened, and everyone started feeding the algorithm with slop they despised instead of making the kind of work that brought them alive.

I sat in rooms with the biggest labels in Nashville and the conversation was always the same: more content, faster, cheaper. That model burns artists out, and the work does not last. Promoting the artist used to be the label’s job. Now they push that responsibility onto the artist, while caring less and less about the art itself. So I started asking: why do we even need the label?

Honestly, I’d had enough. Enough of watching brilliant people grind out disposable content. Enough of work made to be scrolled past. Enough of a system that treats creativity like inventory.

So I’m finally doing something about it.

The world does not need more content. It needs fewer, better things. It needs work that makes people feel something: stories told properly, moments captured once and kept forever.

Creatives do not come alive chasing numbers. We come alive in the craft. The moment right before a band hits the first note on stage. The room holding its breath. Four seconds from something that will never happen again. That is not content. That is the whole reason we do this.

Today I’m launching Cine Artistlabs. Everything I’ve learned in 25 years: the craft, the story, the work, in one place. Training, workshops, production. Built for creatives who want a long, meaningful career, not a fast, empty one.

Come on the journey with me and my friends. It’s time to take back our land.
